You don't need to complete all fields - enter information in as many field as you need to. Once finished you can keep a permanent record by printing the summary page using your browser print button, or print each page as you go to print your entire budget.
To ensure the calculator works correctly, if you make an entry but then wish the change it to zero, ensure you re-enter '0' rather than simply deleting the number.
